Scenes from the week

Wednesday afternoon, 3pm

The baby monkey and I are in the big bed, snuggling together for a nap. The kiddo is whispering softly to himself as he gets his monkey tucked under the covers.

I begin to drift off to sleep.

Suddenly, I feel a warm breath on my face and gently, gently an exploratory finger goes into my nose. It is, this is important to note, not my finger.

Me: Bobo, what are you doing?

The kid: I checka you nose for da boogers!

Tonight, 7:30pm

Tucking the kid in for bed.

The kid: No poop on the floor.

Me: Right

Kid: Poop on the walls is naughty

Me: Uh, yes.

Kid: Poop poop poop

Me: Okay, time for night night

Kid: Poop poop poop. I say POOP!

Tuesday night, 6pm

Driving through a holiday lights display

The kid: CHRISTMAS LIGHTS! CHRISTMAS LIGHTS! SPARKLES CHRISTMAS LIGHTS ES SO BEEEUTIFUL! I LOVE DEM! AHHHHHHH!

It is safe to say that he enjoyed the lights. Had he realized that there was an option for hot chocolate at the end (which, no. My child did not need any more stimulation at that point) I fear his head would have popped right off his body.
