The trip (part 1)

Here is everything you need to know about my girl: when we arrived at the ocean after three days and nearly 24 hours of driving (during which she cried for maybe 35 minutes total. These kids of mine were such troopers about the travel) and she was confronted with the sight of the ocean roiling with waves as a storm started to approached, she didn’t run. Or cry at the sound of the roar of the waves. Or step tentatively on to the wet sand.

Nope.

My girl set her jaw, let out a grunt and ran straight to the sea.

  1. Gretchen says:

How is it possible she can run? Didn’t you JUST have her? Time is crazy! And if it was my husband driving, that 24 hr trip would have taken a day and a half. That may be why we don’t travel much. Great picture!
