The Perfect Beach

So, I’ve been holding out on you a bit. Taunting you, even, with those pictures of the kids on beautiful white sand beaches without telling you where exactly we were.

And I kind of don’t want to.

See, here’s the thing: I’m sure you are lovely and delightful but this trip took me to perhaps the best beach that I’ve ever been to and I’m afraid people will find out about it and go there and then it won’t be perfect anymore.

Okay, fine. I’ll say it. But don’t tell anyone else, okay? Promise?

We went to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and I am already dreaming about our next trip there. The beaches were stunning, the towns were cute and not crowded and there were plenty of great houses for rent.

I can’t tell you how much I needed this trip, how calm and peaceful I felt while we were out there. I didn’t worry about work, I didn’t stress (too much) about grad school, I just enjoyed hours of time with the people I love the most.

It was, basically, perfect.
